Kleen Energy LLC—Engineering, Procurement and Construction

  • Frank Lill and Son was selected to perform all of the critical mechanical construction, which consists of two (2) Siemens STG6 – 5000 – F4 that exhaust into two (2) Voght Heat Recovery Steam Generators that produce steam to drive a 230 MW Siemens Condensing Steam Turbine. Steam from the turbine will exhaust into a field erected steam condenser that will be cooled with water from a wet cooling tower. Several extraction ports are provided on the steam turbine to provide for feedwater heating and deareation. The scope of work also includes the supply and erection of all high pressure and high energy piping. Read More

Waterbury Generation Project—Waterbury, Connecticut

  • 100 MW Simple Cycle

University of Virginia—Engineering, Procurement and Construction

  • Install two new gas and oil-fired 90,000 lb ST/HR package boilers.
  • One new 90,000 lb ST/HR coal-fired, field-erected boiler.
  • New deaerators, a new coal handling system, modifications and additions to the existing ash handling system, new controls system, two new air pollution control systems (scrubbers with baghouses), new addition to the standby generator system, and renovations of the existing BOP systems.

Penn State University—Boiler Overhaul

  • Complete boiler retube.
  • Complete stoker rebuild.
  • Complete refractory replacement.

Cornell University—Combined Heat and Power Project

  • Installation of (2) Titan 130 Gas Turbines.
  • Installation of (2) Rentech HRSG units, as well as all associated periphery.
  • Installation of 165' steel stack.
  • Furnish and Install the balance of piping associated with turbines and HRSG units.

University of North Carolina

General contract to construct a new multi-million dollar power plant to provide in excess of 400,000 lb. ST/HR to the University's steam loop. A smaller project is also underway in parallel at the same campus to add black star capabilities to an older power plant.

Waterbury Generating Station

This is an EPC Joint Venture Contract to fully design, procure and construct a new 100 Mw simple cycle generating station. The project was built on an existing brownfield site, which required soil remediation, extensive piling, civil work and demolition to accommodate the new facility. Our project design incorporated GE's new LMS 100 combustion turbine technology with dual fuel firing capability, as well as a SCR for low NOx emission control.

Bridgeport Harbor Station—Mercury Reduction Project

This project took place at a 365 Mw Coal Fired power plant. Our scope of work included an 8 compartment, fully knocked down baghouse. In addition we installed (2) 2500 Hp ID booster fans, new breaching, duct work and support steel. A new ash silo was constructed as well as other ash handling system additions.

College of William and Mary—Boiler Plant Renovation

This project included the installation of (3) 600 Hp Cleaver Brooks firetube boilers. Along with the boilers, we installed a complete boiler control system , as well as a new DA tank. New installations required the removal of (4) old boilers from various manufacturers as well as 3 indoor oil tanks. We installed (1) new 20,000 gallon underground fuel oil tank for the (3) new boilers. Aside from the new equipment procurement and installation, we completed a full building overhaul, including all new windows, roof and a significant portion of the structural steel.

Lurgi—Northeast Biofuels Project

This project we furnished and installed 40,000 of utility and process piping to be used in the production of ethanol. We also installed a complete RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidation) operation, which is used in the environmentally safe removal of ethanol production byproducts. We also set in place various owner furnished equipment including pumps and cooling towers.

Albany—Sheridan Avenue Steam Plant

A multi-million dollar project to refurbish six boilers at a plant used to heat the NY State Office complex in Empire State Plaza.
